Varla Eagle One Summary

It’s uncommon to find a scooter manufacturer that provides safety equipment and customization materials in the scooter’s package as standard. When we obtained a Varla Eagle One to evaluate, this was the feature that immediately caught our attention. Three additional grip tapes with cool patterns are included in the package with the machine along with knee, elbow, and palm protection cushions. However, that’s just half the tale.

Eagle One readily enters into the performance scooter’s club with to its two motors’ combined peak power output of 3200W. Eagle One has an impressive peak speed of 40 mph thanks to their strong motors. The bike has a two-speed option that lets the user choose between eco-mode and fast-mode to control this amazing pace. Furthermore, this electric scooter can easily ascend a 30-degree slope thanks to its strong engines, which spring to life while facing hilly terrain.

The Eagle One, though, has a reasonable 40-mile range on a single charge, making it more than simply a sprinter. The 52V 18.2AH lithium-ion battery hidden beneath its deck enables this. The electric scooter will need around 8 to 9 hours to fully charge. However, if you connect an additional charger to the grid, this time may be cut in half.

Varla Eagle One not only rides with lightning speed and brutal power, but it also has one of the cutest aesthetics of any scooter. Particularly beautiful is the black finish with red accents on the stem, suspension props, and handlebars. Furthermore, when seen from the side, the independent suspension gives it a sporty appearance. A beautiful LED display screen mounted on the handlebars provides data about the current speed, distance travelled, battery level, and speed mode.

Comfort and safety round out the design and functions of this electric scooter. Independent dual-suspension guarantees a comfortable ride on any surface. Two 10-inch air-filled tyres allow the e-scooter glide over bumps and holes with ease, working in unison with the suspension to provide the rider optimal comfort and grip.

The Varla Eagle One has twin hydraulic brakes and an anti-lock braking system installed for safety; when used combined, these two technologies can safely stop the scooter at speeds up to 40 mph. However, engineers at Varla were aware that safety cannot be guaranteed by brakes alone. Due to this, the Eagle One has a sizable deck with removable grip tapes that guarantee riders’ comfort as well as stability.

Although it costs three times as much as the majority of entry-level electric scooters, it is well worth it! In a word, for experienced riders looking for an adrenaline rush, comfort, style, and safety, this scooter is ideal.

Performance Overview

The Varla Eagle One scooter’s powerful twin engines are one of its most notable features. Two 1000W hub motors that provide an impressive 3200W of power are strategically mounted on the front and rear wheels. The remarkable 40 mph speed of Varla is the result of its sheer force.

However, the two motors have been refined for more than simply speed; they are also a treasure for ascents up hills. The Eagle One efficiently overcomes inclines of 30 degrees, while the majority of scooters stutter on inclines over 15 degrees. This electric scooter offers a very smooth ride on all surfaces thanks to its independent dual suspension system. The grip-tape-fitted deck is roomy enough to support a side-to-side standing posture even for larger riders, so comfort has not been sacrificed.

Even while travelling at 40 mph, the twin hydraulic brakes mounted on each wheel offer the e-scooter the much-needed stopping strength. The Varla Eagle One has a modest but crucial feature that gently retains the handlebar at a forward-facing position to avoid unexpected sideways movement for enhanced stability at this high speed.

Speed & Acceleration

The Varla Eagle One only uses one motor while in Eco Mode. This causes a steady, moderate acceleration, allowing you plenty of time to get used to the new pace. On the other hand, because both of the scooter’s engines will be operating concurrently in Turbo Mode, it is better suited for experienced riders. The ensuing surge of power is strong enough to cause an untrained rider to send the scooter careening into a wheelie.

The Varla Eagle One is a great commuting buddy for folks who need to travel vast distances quickly.

Top Speed

The Varla Eagle One has a mind-blowing 40 mph top speed. This feeling may be quite terrifying for a car that is supported by two 10-inch wheels. To completely handle a scooter at such a pace may need a lot of practice and expertise. Fortunately, it offers two speed settings for individuals who may not be able to handle its ferocious pace.

Hill Climbing

One of the few electric scooters on the market that easily navigates rough terrain is the Varla Eagle One. With its two 1000W engines, climbing hills is a snap. The quickly decreasing battery life and range of electric scooters on mountainous terrain is one of their main problems. Due to the Varla Eagle One’s robust 52V battery and regenerative braking mechanism, which sometimes transfers energy back to the scooter, this is not a problem.

The Varla Eagle One electric scooter can theoretically go up a 30-degree slope without experiencing any discernible power loss.

Battery & Range

The 52V lithium-ion battery in the Varla Eagle One is awesome. The battery guarantees that the e-scooter can go up to 40 miles on a single charge in addition to powering the LED display unit and the LED lights. The typical range of an electric scooter is about 15 miles, which helps put things into perspective.

The Varla Eagle One also includes a special feature that is only found on a few number of high-performance scooters: a dual charging system. If just one charger is used, it will take the battery 8–9 hours to completely recharge. However, the addition of a second charger cuts down this time to 4-5 hours, which is beneficial for those who commute every day in particular.

Motor Configuration

Each of the wheels of the Varla Eagle One is equipped with a pair of 1000W hub motors. Together, these motors provide a whopping 3200W of power. They may be activated separately, however, for a slower and steadier ride. Eagle One competes well with the greatest scooters on the market with a peak speed of 40 mph. In addition to being the ideal engine for speed, it also has adequate power for off-roading and hill climbing.

Construction & Quality

The Varla Eagle One’s frame is built of aluminum alloy, like the majority of electric scooters. The 77-pound weight and sturdy frame of the e-scooter give it a high-end appearance. Compared to most scooters, the handlebars have a broader berth. They take on a curved form, similar to a bicycle’s, which improves the ergonomics and maneuverability of the scooter.

The wheels exude elegance and sophistication while being costly upkeep. In contrast to the flimsy plastic accessories seen on the majority of affordable scooters today, the LED lighting and display console seem high-end.

The Varla Eagle One is a high-end scooter overall with a tone of high-grade attachments and a coveted build quality.

Suspension & Comfort

A dual-suspension system is included with this electric scooter. Each wheel features a spring-coil suspension that swings independently and is fixed in place by a robust swingarm. Small adjustments may be made to the swingarm to customise the stiffness of the spring coil to the user’s preferences. Additionally, it provides the e-scooter a tough and athletic appearance that is guaranteed to catch people’s attention wherever you go.

Ride Quality

Simply by glancing at the Varla Eagle One, you can tell how comfortable it will be. This adaptable scooter is designed to navigate both uneven ground and flat surfaces. Independent suspension that is simple to adjust enables more comfortable rides and customization for different terrains. Depending on the terrain, the 10-inch pneumatic tyres also allow for little deflation and inflation to enhance the riding experience. The Varla Eagle One also features a provision for seat installation, which is useful for lengthy journeys.

It makes sense that the tyres on this high-performance electric scooter be pneumatic rather than solid, flat-free tyres. The two 10-inch pneumatic tyres on this Varla scooter are designed to tackle rough terrain with ease. The benefit of air-filled tyres is that they much better absorb shocks than their solid equivalents. Varla’s effortless ride over the crooked terrain is evidence of this.

The Varla Eagle One has a powerful LED headlight with a lifetime of more than 30K hours that it utilizes to illuminate the road ahead at night. Additionally, it has a brake light for visibility and to warn other motorists. Strategically positioned on the extremities of the deck, the front light and taillight are shielded from physical harm.

A sophisticated braking mechanism is required to stop a two-wheeler safely from a speed of 40 mph. The Varla Eagle one incorporates a dual-hydraulic braking system for this purpose. Each wheel has a hydraulic brake that is individually adjustable.

The brakes function similarly to those on bicycles. The rider must depress the lever on the left side of the handlebar to apply the rear brake. The front brake is operated via a lever on the right side.

However, following the snap reaction from using the brakes, there is a risk of falling. To limit the risk of injury from falls, it is advised for new riders to initially use the rear brake before using both brakes once the e-scooter has slowed down. It only takes a little getting used to, but this shouldn’t stop you from purchasing this fantastic scooter.

The Varla Eagle One also employs clever regenerative braking and an ABS to prevent the danger of unexpected stops due to locked wheels.

Due to its enormous weight, carrying the Varla Eagle One by hand is tiresome. With the exception of short lengths up and down stairs or while placing it into your car’s trunk, you are less likely to find yourself carrying it by hand thanks to its off-roading capabilities.

The e-scooter has a simple folding mechanism, however there isn’t a lock to keep the base and stem together. As a result, riders will have to carry it by its deck, which is difficult given its enormous 77-pound weight. You’ll be glad to hear that Varla includes a fixable latch as one of the optional presents when you purchase their Eagle One, however.

One of the Varla Eagle One electric scooter’s most obvious features is the deck. It is immediately apparent that Varla spent a significant amount of time creating the scooter. Grip tapes are used to cover the surface, and you are given three more at no additional cost. Because these tapes may be changed, unlike rubber finishes, the Varla has a very high durability rating and needs minimal upkeep.

The deck’s enormous dimensions of 21.6″ x 9.1″ allow for both side-by-side and toe-to-heel standing positions. This completes the package.

Controls & Display

The ergonomic placement of the control knobs on the handlebars, which resemble bicycle handlebars, not only gives more customization choices but is also a nice change from the standard straight handlebar seen on most scooters. On the left side of the handlebar, a large LCD console is installed next to the ignition slot.

Thankfully, the Varla Eagle One has a QS-S4 finger-throttle display with a wide range of capabilities. On sunny days, you won’t need to strain your eyes since it is sufficiently light. Additionally, the signals are big enough to read when standing, even while moving!

The battery level, speed, gear selection, current mileage, and total mileage are some of the significant facts shown on the display. This display unit’s functionality is its finest feature. There is a USB port that may also be used for charging (although this is not recommended). Additionally, it includes a finger throttle and two buttons. The scooter may be turned on and off using the red power button. The second button is definitely the most intriguing. It performs a number of tasks, including as selecting the riding mode, modifying the regenerative brakes, altering the LCD brightness, and turning on the cruise control.

Although the Varla Eagle One has a high water resistant certification, the QS-S4 display unit does not. You are advised not to go outside in the rain because of this.

A bell, a single/dual motor switch, and two brake levers mounted on each side of the handlebars round out the controls. The bell is located to the right.

Water Resistance

The Varla Eagle One, which claims to be the “ultimate off-roading beast,” has an IP54 water resistant designation. This indicates that it won’t be harmed by water and that it can wade across puddles and pools. The QS-S4 LCD display is not, however, weatherproof against torrential downpours. It is advised that cyclists avoid leaving during a rain for this reason.

One of the most dependable electric scooters available is without a doubt this one. It feels luxurious in every inch, and the craftsmanship is exceptional. The Varla Eagle One is a robust and high-quality device that is designed to withstand years of rigorous usage.

Warranty & Customer Support

You’ll be happy to know that Varla has a strong customer support staff standing by to assist you if you run into any problems with the product. Choose from a variety of customer care options, including a phone number that is accessible Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Additionally, a helpful staff is available to respond to email inquiries. The company’s website also offers a number of self-service alternatives, including a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section, instructions, order tracking, and a handbook that can be downloaded for all of their goods.

Varla offers a two-year guarantee for their items as part of their after-sale services. The guarantee is non-transferable and is in effect as soon as the customer completes their online transaction. With free maintenance for 24 months, this warranty covers manufacturing flaws in the throttle, controller, and frame. Motor, battery, and charger manufacturing flaws are covered by a 12-month guarantee. Free maintenance is available for these components as well.

The fenders, kickstand, inner tube, and brake pad all come with a one-month (or 100 mile) guarantee from the manufacturer for any manufacturing flaws. The aforementioned components are also eligible for a free replacement throughout the warranty term. However, the guarantee does not cover cosmetic damage or wear and tear caused by typical usage.

Known Issues

Despite the manufacturer’s defenses, a lot of people have expressed dissatisfaction with the Varla Eagle One’s headlight’s performance. According to user feedback, it is not as bright as the manufacturer said. The Varla Eagle One is reliable in every other respect except from that.

The Varla Eagle One is subject to standard procedures for maintaining electric scooters, which include:

  • Before leaving, check the brakes, tyres, and bolt joints.
  • optimum battery management techniques
  • adequate storage
  • Use under appropriate circumstances during severe weather

But that’s not all; when you buy, you also get a number of worthwhile incentives. In particular, when you purchase the Varla Eagle One, you get three additional grip tapes, a replacement inner tube, and a protective gear set.
