Segway F40 Review
The F40 was surprisingly simple to set up: only a few screws and it was ready to go, charging and linked with the Segway Ninebot app.
As I took it outdoors for the first time and stood on it, I felt like a kid at Christmas. I expected to be carried away in a cloud of happiness when I touched the accelerator pedal. I, on the other hand, received nothing. As I double-checked the app and settings, double-checked the kickstand, and studied the scooter as if I knew what I was looking for, my companion couldn't help but laugh.
It turns out that you have to start it with your feet first before the motor kicks in, something I didn't realise because of the name.
The huge wheels, on the other hand, make it easy to ride up and down gutters as well as over rough terrain. Not only that, but the robust carbon frame is built to survive the harshest conditions, and it's well-protected to handle whatever you throw at it. The scooter feels robust, weighted, and with that strong non-slip grip on the threads, even at higher speeds.
