The Ninebot Segway E22e is a new electric scooter from the company. It retails for around $599 and has a max speed of 12.5 mph. The E22e also has a range of 15 miles on a single charge and can hold up to 220 pounds. It’s a great option for those looking for an affordable, portable, and lightweight scooter that is easy to use.

Ninebot Segway E22E Summary:

The Ninebot Segway E22E is far from the ideal scooter, but the greatest part is that you get exactly what you pay for, plus a little extra. This entry-level scooter, from Segway’s Ninebot range, is very inexpensive and accessible, and goes head-to-head with Xiaomi’s launches, as the two firms battle on price and performance.
Returning to the Ninebot Segway E22E, it’s a practical and economical scooter that outperforms its class and pricing. Despite being in the lowest tiers of the Ninebot Segway, it has three riding modes (Eco, Standard, and Sport), a motor lock, cruise control (which is quite handy! ), and regenerative braking. Furthermore, it comes with dual-density flat-free tyres. Another Ninebot Segway battery may be added to the stem to improve the maximum range (from 14 to 28 miles) and peak speed (from 13 to 18mph). Additionally, if two batteries are used, the engine may be increased from 300W to 700W, making the E22E more capable of climbing slopes and inclines.
Despite its 2020 debut date, it doesn’t look that different from its predecessors in terms of looks. I think Ninebot-Segway believes that rather than fixing what isn’t wrong, you should improve on the areas that people have complained about in past generations (yeah, we’re talking about you, tyres!). The same can be said for the weight and riding speed, and regrettably, the under-deck LED lights on this one have been removed in order to save costs and make things more competitive.

Performance Overview:

To be clear, the Ninebot Segway E22E is equipped with an 184Wh 5100 mAh battery. To charge it, open the cover at the bottom of the steering tube that hides the charging port. When the LED display illuminates and the speedometer displays the percentage of the battery that has been charged, you know it’s charging.

One battery, once again, can carry you up to 14 miles (22 kilogrammes) at a top speed of 13 mph (21 km/h). If you want to increase the power of your Ninebot E22E, you may purchase an extra Ninebot Segway battery for US $228 (£165) to increase the highest speed to 18 mph (29 km/h) and the maximum range in a single charge.

Top Speed & Acceleration:

This electric scooter, equipped with a 300W engine and an 184Wh battery, can reach speeds of up to 13 mph (21 km/h), but it will take you around 6 seconds to get there. You may always add another battery by cashing out a little more money if you want to speed things up a little.

This scooter is not suitable for rapid nipping because it is sluggish and designed exclusively for local errands or slowly riding. It’s not the greatest electric scooter to ride on the road (since it’s under the speed limit) or on the sidewalk (because it’s too fast for people walking). Nonetheless, private properties are more likely to be taken on.

Hill Climbing:

The Ninebot E22E is said to be capable of climbing up to 15% hill grades with ease. In our tests, we discovered that the manufacturer has inflated this claim, since the e-speed scooter’s reduces to a virtual crawl and the battery capacity is quickly depleted.

You will not have any problems if you use this electric scooter for acceptable flat surface urban transportation.

Battery Life & Range:

Its battery isn’t the most powerful (only 184 WH and 5100 mAh), and it’s becoming the scooter’s primary source of criticism. Because it has three riding modes (Eco, Standard, and Sport), selecting the more powerful and powerful settings quickly depletes the battery’s power reserve.

Its Smart Battery Management System unquestionably helps, but maxing out the settings will only get you a ride that lasts about 2 hours. If this isn’t enough for you, simply get another 184 WH Ninebot Segway battery, attach it over the stem, and enjoy significantly higher speeds and range.

The battery only takes 3.5 hours to charge, which is extremely quick for an electric vehicle.

Motor Configuration:

The electric scooter has a 300W motor that can be upgraded to 700W by adding two extra 184 WH Ninebot Segway batteries. This motor provides adequate torque right out of the box to accelerate this entry-level scooter quickly.

Construction & Build Quality:

Segway, which dates back to the days of hoverboards, ensures that its name is not tarnished by providing high-quality electric scooters at affordable costs. People praise the e-superb scooter’s construction and abundance of distinctive features, which maximises both design and quality control that you don’t generally find in low-cost electric scooters.

Segway made sure their Ninebot entry would not disappoint, from the tyres to the app and even the Smart Battery management system. It looks fantastic, rides smoothly, and performs admirably. It’s not known to break easily unless it’s being ridden by someone who weighs more beyond 100 kg (220 lbs), at which point issues start showing up everywhere.

Deck:

Because this is a tiny e-scooter, the deck provides plenty of room to stand. It also allows you to add a seat anytime you want to ride rather than cramping or straining your legs by standing. A grip runs the length and width of it, ensuring that you are safe to ride no matter how fast you travel.

Tyres:

The Ninebot Segway E22E has revolutionary 9-inch dual-density and flat-free tyres. They’re really made of a new PU foaming material that’s impervious to punctures and requires no maintenance. It also acts as the only suspension on an electric scooter, and it accomplishes its job admirably!

Suspension:

This electric scooter is not equipped with suspension. The only “suspension” is provided by the dual-density flat-free tyres packed with PU foaming leather, which provide that degree of comfort on uneven roads while also preventing air leaks and requiring less maintenance.

Braking:

This scooter’s braking mechanism is unusual, including a regenerative Kinetic Energy Recovery System in the front (KERS). In layman’s words, it simply means that utilising it pushes and feeds a portion of the kinetic energy it generates back to the battery, allowing the power to be maintained to some extent.

This brake is a little sluggish, so if you need to stop quickly, stand on the rear fender to activate the mechanical rear brake.

Ride Quality:

This scooter isn’t the most powerful on the market, but you do get a little more for your money. For one thing, despite the 15% climb rating, the motor struggles on slopes and inclines. Although the dual density tyres grip the road effectively and the all-new unique dual density flat free design provides enough suspension, the IPX4 classification makes riding in heavy rain far too dangerous.

The scooter has three riding modes, however the sport mode seems the most reasonable most of the time, especially when you’re in a hurry. Finally, cruise control makes the entire riding experience pleasant and tolerable, more than compensating for the lower-tier deficiencies.

Portability:

This electric scooter barely weights 13.5 kg (29 lbs), about the same as three average-sized infants. When the batteries are charging or the scooter is not in use, the neck snaps and locks in place, so carrying it about or parking it within isn’t a huge deal.

All things considered, this e-scooter is quite portable.

Lights:

The Ninebot Segway E22E’s lighting setup is straightforward, including a 2.5W headlight, flashing rear lights, and brake lights.

The absence of side lights is accounted for by high-quality reflectors, and the rear light settings may be adjusted via the electric scooter’s app.

Controls & Display:

The LED display is basic and uncomplicated, showing your speed, remaining battery life, the mode you’re in, some maintenance lights to alert you if necessary, and a Bluetooth prompt to show that the e-scooter is linked to the app on your smartphone.

Toggle between riding modes by pushing the power button twice, while hitting it three times rapidly turns on the headlight. To figure out which riding mode you’re in, remember that a white S beside the speedometer indicates standard mode, a red S indicates speed mode =, and no S indicates speed-limit mode (maximum 10.5mph or 16 km/h). The maximum speeds in both ordinary and speed mode are 12.4 mph (20 km/h), with the main difference being that speed mode brings you there far faster.

Finally, the Segway Ninebot software (available for Android and iOS) may be used as an expanded dashboard that connects via Bluetooth and mimics the LED display on the E-scooters. The app can also be used to lock the scooter’s wheels if you need to leave it for a while, and it’s also the sole way to operate the scooter’s cruise control.
To give you a clearer understanding of how cruise control works, it checks in every five seconds if you’re driving at a consistent pace. It beeps and takes over driving without you having to hold down the throttle once it detects the pattern. The app also takes care of your backlight, allowing you to pick whether you want it on all the time or only when you need it. Finally, you may choose between 0 and 3 mph (5 km/h) for the scooter’s acceleration, since the default is 2.5 mph (4 km/h).

Water Resistance:

The water-resistant certification of the Ninebot Segway E22E is IPX4, which protects the scooter from light splashes from damp ground.

It also allows cyclists to ride in mist/fog and short, intermittent rains without getting wet. However, after riding in the rain, motorcyclists should wipe the scooter dry to guarantee its durability.

Reliability, Warranty & Customer Support:

The Ninebot Segway E22E is a scooter that is meant to last. The scooter’s construction is made of robust materials that are built to last. A Smart Battery Management System is also included to protect the battery from electrical issues. Segway scooters are recognised for being built to the highest conceivable standards.

Having said that, you should always strive to get an e-scooter from a reliable company. It’s preferable if they have a physical location. That way, they’ll be able to go above and above when it comes to servicing or repairing your scooter. Be prepared for a lot of annoyance if you buy from a big internet merchant like Amazon.

The official guarantee for the Ninebot E22E is 12 months, with extra warranties available for purchase.

Maintenance:

The only thing to check from time to time is the batteries, as the tyres’ maintenance has already been completed. Charge cycles might be difficult to keep track of, but the only thing that will fail first on this e-scooter is its source of power. The good news is that it’s really simple to replace.

Always attempt to maintain the actual e-scooter body clean, and wipe it down with a moist towel after commuting.

Known Issues:

Not because there’s anything wrong with the factory-built scooter; the only complaint folks have is the battery’s poor cheval. cheval. Of course, this may be readily fixed by attaching a second battery to the stem.

Is this Electric Scooter value for money, and is it worth buying?

Overall, it’s not a horrible scooter, but it’s far from perfect. However, at the price point in its class, it does provide and provide a lot of additional capabilities that electric scooters at the same level do not.

Unfortunately, its inadequate battery and motor do not compensate for the fact that it is well-equipped, thus it falls short of the top scooters in the price category.

Overall, it’s a good value for money product that may be readily enhanced with a little more study and tinkering. However, we feel that you can do better by paying a little more money and having suspension, a longer range, and more power.

However, here’s a bit of a cure-all plus a big BUT… If you’re searching for an excellent e-scooter for your teen children, the E22E is a terrific choice. This is not advertised as a children’s e-scooter, but because it falls short of similar scooters in its class, you can’t go wrong with it. If you trust us, your children will.
